Skin type + Right Foundation = Flawless look

Now that we have talked about skin types, you must have an idea of what kind of skin you have.
Knowing which one is your skin type will help you to choose the right makeup.
This post will be dedicated to choosing the right foundation.

Have you ever found yourself staring at the makeup aisle as time goes by and you have no idea of what kind of foundation you want?

Here the types of foundation for skin types (also, some suggestions based on the research)
Let's begin...

Dry Skin/Normal or Combination Skin

Use cream or mousse foundation, this types of foundation will help you cover imperfections, allows the skin to look moisturized; if you don't want a heavy coverage try using a tinted moisturizer. If you use powder foundation, the dry parts of your face will be accentuated, leaving your face looking even more dry. For normal or combination skin use liquid foundation, this gives you the freedom to choose between types of finishes and there are plenty options. Usually normal and dry skin are identified on the same products, but to be sure look for a foundation that specifies your skin type.

Some recommended - drugstore- foundations for this type of skin are:

  1. Revlon ColorStay Makeup for Normal/Dry Skin, $12.99 - Costumers rave about it's long lasting qualities. Some say that it can last all day, covers imperfections and creates a smooth finish (without the flakes!).
  2. CoverGirl Advanced Radiance Age-Defying Liquid Makeup, $10.13 - Costumers over 30 say that this one is a *must*. Adds glow, without oil and skin looks ageless.
  3. CoverGirl Cg Smoothers All-Day Hydrating Makeup, $7.99 - Costumers of all skin types claim that this foundation is amazing. Extra moisture, no flakes, no *cakes*, but a soft and smooth face.
  4. Revlon ColorStay Whipped Crème Makeup, $14.99 - What you can love about this product is the airbrushed/flawless finish. With a very light and not at all sticky, costumers love this.

Oily Skin

Use powder foundation, this type of foundation helps by soaking the oily and leaving a matte finish.

Some recommended - drugstore- foundations for this type of skin are:

  1. Mark Powder Buff Natural Skin Foundation, $9 - Costumers rave about the smooth and flawless finish this product offers. It is easy to blend and holds back the oil.
  2. Milani Smooth Finish Pressed Powder Foundation, $6.99 - Inexpensive and good coverage is what costumers brag about this fella. They say it blends smoothly and leaves the skin feeling smooth.
  3. Almay Clear Complexion Powder Makeup for Oily Skin, $9.99 -  This one will give you the coverage you need, while looks and feels lighter. Also prevents breakouts, which is a plus.
  4. Revlon New Complexion One Step Makeup, $12.99 - What people love about this product is that is easy to use and you can use it to build up coverage, without looking like you have a lot of makeup on.
Sensitive Skin

For this type of skin, your best bet is to buy foundations made for sensitive skin. The key to this is because the products already classified for this skin, have less ingredients that can irritate your skin, like perfumes and some chemicals. Still you can go for a regular foundation, but make sure it has less ingredients or that it doesn't contain perfumes. If you have no idea what brands are made for sensitive skin, here I share a list with you:

  1. Josie Maran
  2. Physicians Formula
  3. Clinique
  4. Almay
  5. Korres
  6. Cover FX
"The ones that I have tried are Clinique and Almay and I have stayed with these. The others that I have tried are Physicians Formula and BareMinerals, but my experience with these were not as good. With both, I had allergic reactions to them, because although they are hypoallergenic I reacted to one ingredient. After I bought these and it happened, it turns out that both of this products contain Mica, an ingredient that can cause allergies on some people. Some of their bad reviews are about this and some people seem to have the same experience that I had"

Ombre vs Balayage vs... Which one will win you over?

They’re highlighting techniques, but the results are different. Welcome again, today we are going to be unmasking the differences between: Balayage, Ombre, Sombre and Flamboyage. Let's get started! #1 Ombre As the ombre trend started, you may have noticed that things have evolve a little since. The ombre is a very harsh transition between one color to the other. The results, in some cases, gave the client a very distinct line in the middle of the hair where one color ended to where the other began. Since then, hairstylist have worked on ways to make this trend into the subtle and more natural transitions we see today. #2  Balayage From the French word meaning "to sweep", balayage is a freehand painting technique. Now, let's begin with something, sometimes, we ignore. Our undertone! You may be asking yourself questions like this...  What is this undertone thing?  What does the undertone has to do with foundation? Here are your answers... There are 3 undertones: cool, neutral and warm. Now, to know what is your undertone, let's make an exercise. Turn your hand (palm facing you) and look for this characteristics. Now, look at your veins (sounds like something weird - :S). The color of your veins will help you determine, y
