Foundation + Application = Art

Hi, everyone!

Now that we have found our perfect foundation, it is time for application.
Taking into account what we learn in the past blog about skin care, choose the one that fits you the most. Now that you have chosen one, wash your face and apply moisturizer, this will help the final look of your application, by removing dirt and oil; and giving moisture.

Tip: Exfoliate at least two times a week to get rid of dead skin and avoid cracked looking skin.

Now, to apply your foundation you can do it one of three ways.

Using sponges, a brush or your fingers.
Let us explore how this three different methods work.

Sponges

Wet or dry, this fellows come in different shapes to apply the foundation to different parts of your face. However, they tend to adsorb the liquid foundation leading to waste your precious gold liquid. Also they can grow bacteria, leading to breakouts.

Brush

This one helps you create a natural look, by achieving a lighter coverage than sponges.
You can wash it and use it again, using makeup brushes shampoo and they come in different sizes for your benefit. The way to use this is by brushing from the middle of your face toward the outer parts.
Remember to blend.

Here the different shapes and finishes:

Fingers

Wash your hands! That is the first step, use the same products you use to clean your face, since they are made to remove the oil and the dirt related to skin problems in the face. This way you can be sure that your fingers are completely clean (or at least that is what I used to do in the past). This will help diminish the excess of oils and other foreign things that can cause your face to breakout. You can use this method for mousse and liquid foundations. If you have oily skin, avoid this method.

Remember you have to pick the one that works the  best for your skin, not the easiest or the hardest, but the one that helps you face stay healthy.

Ombre vs Balayage vs... Which one will win you over?

They’re highlighting techniques, but the results are different. Welcome again, today we are going to be unmasking the differences between: Balayage, Ombre, Sombre and Flamboyage. Let's get started! #1 Ombre As the ombre trend started, you may have noticed that things have evolve a little since. The ombre is a very harsh transition between one color to the other. The results, in some cases, gave the client a very distinct line in the middle of the hair where one color ended to where the other began. Since then, hairstylist have worked on ways to make this trend into the subtle and more natural transitions we see today. #2  Balayage From the French word meaning "to sweep", balayage is a freehand painting technique. Now, let's begin with something, sometimes, we ignore. Our undertone! You may be asking yourself questions like this...  What is this undertone thing?  What does the undertone has to do with foundation? Here are your answers... Our undertone  i s the color that's just beneath the skin, and while your overall skin tone can change over time, the undertone does not change .  The foundations the we see on any store, they come based on our undertones. There are 3 undertones: cool, neutral and warm. Now, to know what is your undertone, let's make an exercise. Turn your hand (palm facing you) and look for this characteristics. Now, look at your veins (sounds like something weird - :S). The color of your veins will help you determine, y
