Straighteners... what a difficult decision!?

We want our hair to look sleek and straight, but with so many options on the market and our different hair types and hair styles, choosing the right straightener could be a hassle.

Here I'll break it down for you, from size, type and temperature.

Let's get started.

Size

Type

Hair Type: Fine, mostly straight

Hair Type: Fine, Curly

Hair Type: Fine, Curly

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
For thick, but mostly straight, look for a straightener that offers a long range in temperatures; and for thick, curly and coarse, look for a straightener with temperatures between 300 to 400 degrees and that provides ions to protect your hair.
Temperature
Temperature on a straightener depends on hair type, hair length and the plate size of your straightener. Never, under any circumstance use a straightener on a temperature of 451ºF, you will cause more damage to your hair.
Healthy hair can usually withstand hotter temperatures. Damaged and color-treated hair requires a straightener that allows a lower temperature, or you could damage your hair even more. Thick and coarse hair also requires a higher temperature setting in order to smooth down cuticles.
Let's get started! #1 Ombre As the ombre trend started, you may have noticed that things have evolve a little since. The ombre is a very harsh transition between one color to the other. Foundation + Application = Art
Hi, everyone!  Now that we have found our perfect foundation, it is time for application. Taking into account what we learn in the past blog about skin care, choose the one that fits you the most. Now that you have chosen one, wash your face and apply moisturizer, this will help the final look of your application, by removing dirt and oil; and giving moisture.  Tip: Exfoliate at least two times a week to get rid of dead skin and avoid cracked looking skin. Now, to apply your foundation you can do it one of three ways.  Using sponges, a brush or your fingers. Let us explore how this three different methods work. Sponges Wet or dry, this fellows come in different shapes to apply the foundation to different parts of your face. However, they tend to adsorb the liquid foundation leading to waste your precious gold liquid. Also they can grow bacteria, leading to breakouts. Brush This one helps you create a natural look, by achieving a lighter coverage
